Bio
Finally a 4-member band after years of being first a duet then a trio, we create rock music influenced by many genre and sub-genre built on a foundation of punk, hard rock and theatrical rock music.
Our sound, themes, look and creative philosophy follow our namesake, "Nihil Admirari"; a Latin phrase describing a way of life that discourages expectation and encourages having an open mind. We represent diversity, empathy, thought and exploration in every life; the walk on the thin path between complexity and simplicity of everything.
We grew from a duet in 2016 to a trio in 2017 and finally found our final member - our bassist - in 2023. But through the many challenges and setbacks over the years, we were able to produce 2 EPs, 3 Singles, 3 Lyric Videos, a yearly acoustic show and a yearly Halloween Festival while performing around NYC.
Noshi, our vocalist, is a composer, producer and pianist from The Bahamas. He studied music in Boston then moved to NYC looking to start his own band. He's known for his theatrical interpretation of our music, often acting out stories while performing.
Vabo, our guitarist, is a producer, editor and a co-founder of the Yosemic artist collaborative. He traveled to the US from Japan to study music in NYC eventually releasing music in several collaborative and solo projects of his own. He's known for his raw, grunge guitar sound that has been noted to be larger than life filling the gap of a missing bass in the past.
Mike V., our drummer, is a theater performer and cover artist from Long Island, NY. He's known for his quirkiness, always adding in call backs and references to his drumming but also always wearing some of the strangest things on stage, including a gorilla costume. He's the member that brought metal into the mix with powerful drums and an openness to mutli-genre references.
Mike D., our bassist and the newest member of the band. He has such a vast catalogue of music tucked in his memory, it's a fun game to describe something and have him give you a suggestion. The second New Yorker in the group, he's experienced life as a multi-instrumentalist and member of various bands and groups. As the audience gets to know him with Nihil Admirari, we're wondering how long it'll take for you to hear about his other name.
